Introduction text
In the first text box you can write an introductory text. The introductory text tells participants what to do in the assignment. You may want to offer suggestions on how to solve the assignment, or write an introduction to the text that contains the blank fields.
Adding the blank fields text
In the second text field, enter the text to which you want to add the blank fields.
Creating the blank fields
To create the blank fields, highlight the word you want to blank out by selecting it or double clicking it with the mouse. Continue by clicking the Create blank button. The words you have blanked out are shown with black highlighting in the blank fields text and are also listed in the 'Blanked words' list under 'Create blank fields'.
All the words you have blanked out appear in a drop-down list in the blank field. You do not have to add alternatives yourself. If you have a text with five blank fields, all of the alternatives are available as options from the drop-down list in each of the blank fields. However, you can add distracters by clicking the link Add one more alternative. The alternatives you add manually appear in the drop-down list with the other options.
Adding alternatives
In this question type, all blanked fields must have at least one alternative. That means, if you have only one blank field, you must add one or more alternatives manually. Even if you have more than one blanked out word, you can add alternatives manually to increase the difficulty of the question.
To add an alternative, click Add one more alternative, enter the alternative in the text box and click Add.
